09/23* Italian Tubular Cast-on and Bind-off

In this class, we will learn how to give our knits a beautifully polished look with the Italian Tubular Cast-On and Bind-off. These techniques produce an edge that flows seamlessly into ribbing at the collar, cuffs, hems, and button bands of your garment. In the first week, we will learn two different ways to work the cast-on (with and without waste yarn), and in the second week, we will learn different techniques for working the bind-off. Students will be working on swatches in and out of class to practice these techniques.

Skill Level: Advanced
Skills Needed: Students should have experience with top-down, seamless sweater construction.
Supplies Needed: One ball of worsted weight or DK yarn and needles to match, scrap yarn, and a tapestry needle.  Additional information will be e-mailed by the instructor prior to class.  We recommend Germantown or Scout by Kelbourne Woolens, ideally in a light or bright color.
