Class & Event Policies

Registration & Space

  • Class space is limited — sign up as soon as possible
  • Reserve your space by purchasing online or in person
  • Unless otherwise noted, all classes are for students 16 and up
  • A separate registration is required for each attendee
  • Because of sharp cutting tools, pins, hot irons, and other hazards, classes are not a safe or appropriate setting for children

Class Minimums

  • We keep classes small to ensure equal attention for every student
  • Each class requires a minimum number of students to run
  • If the minimum is not met within 48 hours of the scheduled class, enrolled students will be notified by email and offered a full refund or store credit applicable to a future class

Waitlist

  • If a class or event is sold out, students can click "Notify Me When Available" and enter your email address.
  • If a seat opens, everyone who joined that Waitlist will be notified at the same time.
  • It is the student's responsibility to purchase a seat if one becomes available.
  • If the class sells out a second time, you must join the waitlist again by following the same steps.

Student Cancellation

  • If you cannot attend a class you have registered for, a store credit will be issued only if you notify us at least 72 hours before the first class session
  • Cancellations less than 72 hours before class are non-refundable and non-transferable — no exceptions
  • No-shows forfeit all class fees
  • Make-up sessions are not offered for missed classes
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be admitted, and no refund or store credit will be issued for the missed class

Special Events & Guest Instructor Classes

  • Seats for special events, master classes, and visiting instructor classes are non-refundable.
  • Seats are transferable. If you are unable to attend, please notify us immediately — a waitlist may be available
  • If no waitlist exists, it is the attendee's responsibility to find someone to take their spot

Weather Policy

  • In the event of a weather-related cancellation, each student will be notified via email or phone
  • We will reschedule the class or issue a store credit applicable to classes or merchandise
  • Check our social media and website for weather-related updates

Arrival & Timing

  • Classes start promptly as scheduled
  • Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early, no earlier than 15 minutes before class, to set up. (You are welcome to arrive earlier to shop, however.)
  • Students arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time will not be admitted
  • No refund or store credit will be issued for classes missed due to late arrival

Machines & Materials

  • Classroom sewing machines are available upon request, unless otherwise specified in the class description (our classroom machines are the B 475)
  • Materials are not included unless stated in the class description
  • If, when appropriate, you plan to bring your own machine, please notify us in advance so we can have a space ready
  • You must know the basics of operating a machine unless you are attending a Machine Basics class
  • If you have previously purchased the required pattern from us, you'll receive a credit. Proof of purchase is required, which we can find in your store account.

Class Etiquette

  • While food and drink are permitted in the classroom, drinks must have a screw-on cap that prevents spillage if tipped.
  • Please arrive on time (see above) and be prepared with class materials and pre-class preparations completed.
  • Cell phones must be silenced or set to vibrate during class. If you need to make or receive a call, please step outside to avoid disruption.
  • Please pay attention to the instructor and allow others to do the same.
  • For everyone’s safety, please keep your work area clean, especially the floor space around you.
  • Due to allergies, please do not wear heavily fragranced perfumes, colognes, or scented lotions to class.

Copyright Policy

  • We respect copyright laws — each student must have their own copy of any book or pattern required for class in classes where the student is responsible for providing such
  • Photocopies are not acceptable, no exceptions
  • Patterns, books, and handouts cannot be shared or photocopied in accordance with copyright laws

Additional Information

  • Classes and events are not eligible for participation in our Pintuck’s Pearls rewards program.
