Are you ready to build your skills with the perfect holiday project? Then this is the class for you! Join us as we learn to knit the different cables and textures in the Turtle Dove Shawl by Sari Nordlund. In this course, we will learn how to read a knitting chart, how to knit different types of cables with and without a cable needle, how to knit the zig-zag or traveling cable, how to knit a bobble, and how to manage edge stitches. This is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself with a fun and portable project that also makes a fantastic gift.

Digital pattern is included in class fee and will be e-mailed to students before class.

Skill Level: Advanced
Skills Needed: Students should be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and knitting and purling through the back loop.  Experience with reading charts is recommended but not required; note that the stitch patterns are charted only (no written instructions).
Supplies Needed:  

• US 4 needles with a cable of 24" or more
• Cable needle or spare double-pointed needle
• 246 yds of DK weight yarn (we recommend Sweet Georgia Superwash DK)
  • OR 
• 245 yds of fingering weight yarn and mohair (we recommend Tynd and Harmony)

The pattern includes instructions for using either a DK yarn or a combination of fingering-weight yarn and mohair. Please note that using the mohair adds an extra layer of difficulty if you're not used to cabling with it.
