Ready to graduate from straight line quilting to creating meanders, organic shapes, and circular designs? Come learn the basics of Free Motion Quilting (FMQ) in this class. We will go over what to do with both your feed dogs and your hands when free motion quilting, a variety of basic FMQ designs, as well as how to tackle a larger project on a small machine.
Note: If the feed dogs do not “drop” on your machine, please also bring a feed dog cover if you have it.
Skill level: Advanced beginner
Skills required: Basic quilting skills
Supplies you provide:
- Sewing Machine
- Darning Foot or Free Motion Foot (If you have the BSR, this is the free motion quilting foot to bring)
- 2 FQ of quilting cotton
- A 18 x 22 piece of batting
- Thread
- 90/12 Quilting, Topstitch, or Microtex Needle + extra
